Video de la semana: Nevermore - Dreaming Neon Black (live)

Bueno, ya que estoy acabando mi semana de "rodríguez", voy a retomar la vieja tradición de este blog de publicar el "vídeo de la semana", porque la semana que viene no sabemos si lo habrá. Podéis tomarlo como vídeo del mes o del bimestre, o del verano, no sé. Lo que os parezca.


De entre todas las cosas que quería haber hecho esta semana, algunas han salido, otras no, otras han resultado ser una pérdida de tiempo y energías. En definitiva: una de las cosas que quería hacer era visionar el DVD de Nevermore, "The Year Of The Voyager", y lo he hecho. Así que esta semana, NEVERMORE para todos, a ver si se va creando mercado para que vengan a tocar por aquí (ya sabemos que "Spain is different"... hasta en el Metal... estos tíos llevan años triunfando en Europa, y en España los conocen cuatro gatos).



Descubrí a esta banda hace 9 ó 10 años, cuando mi amigo Tommy me pasó el genial y nunca suficientemente bien valorado "Dreaming Neon Black" del que, a mi parecer, interpretan muy pocas canciones en los directos (al menos en los que vienen en el doble DVD que he estado viendo, a ratos, esta semana). Se trata de su obra más oscura y extraña, a mi entender. Las canciones transmiten mucha más tristeza, melancolía y dramatismo que las de todas las bandas de Gothic Metal juntas, y estamos hablando de un disco que, si no es Thrash Metal, se queda muy cerca. Una obra de arte. El caso es que no se hizo ningún vídeo promocional para ese disco, algo que no termino de entender, máxime cuando han grabado vídeos promocionales para todos los discos que han editado, ya fueran anteriores o posteriores a "Dreaming Neon Black". Por consiguiente, y como novedad, hoy os traigo como vídeo de la semana un tema en directo, precisamente "Dreaming Neon Black", sacado del DVD "The Year Of The Voyager". Se trata de un medio tiempo repleto de dramatismo, como podéis escuchar a continuación.



Esta actuación fue grabada en 2006, en la sala Zeche de Bochum (Alemania). El segundo guitarrista, que no es miembro fijo del grupo, es Chis Broderick. Algún día os pondré unos vídeos del tipo en cuestión. Lo que es una pena es que la voz femenina fuera pregrabada.
