Vídeo de la semana (pasada): Rough Silk - On The Wrong Side Of The Moon

Otra vez me ha pillado el toro...

Hoy os voy a poner un vídeo de una de esas bandas que, a pesar de tener una calidad compositiva fuera de toda duda, nunca han llegado a ser reconocidas por el grueso de la comunidad metálica. Se trata de los alemanes Rough Silk, cuyas composiciones, aún estando claramente influenciadas por el Hard Rock, no se ciñen a los corsés de un determinado estilo, sino que toman elementos del Power Metal, el Rock progresivo y cualquier cosa que se les ponga por delante. Es como meter en un crisol a Savatage y Queen, agregándoles un piano, uno teclados Hammond o un doble bombo, según el momento, jeje. Sin duda, el hecho de que el líder de Rough Silk el teclista Ferdy Doernberg (que también ha trabajado con Axel Rudy Pell, entre otros) tiene mucho que ver en el atípico sonido de la banda, en el que nunca faltan arreglos de piano, órgano o acordeón, incluso en los temas más "duros".

El tema que os dejo es una balada llamada "On The Wrong Side Of The Moon", perteneciente a su disco de 1996 "Circle Of Pain ... Or The Secret Lies Of Timekeeping". A la voz teneís aquí a Jan Barnett, el que fuera cantante de la banda en sus 4 primeros discos, y cuya voz también es una característica notable de esos trabajos. En este tema, Ferdy Doernberg no toca exactamente el teclado, sino el acordeón, algo que tampoco es muy típico en el Metal, ¿no?
